How to Access Your Office Computer from Home

Remote work with your existing Windows PC

Keep your office desktop within reach

Your project files and specialist applications may live on a computer at work. Remote desktop access lets you use that computer from home without moving the entire setup. Moe Repair Remote Access supports authorized Windows remote connections through Moe Repair’s hosted connection infrastructure.

The package covers up to 10 registered computers, with one active remote-control session at a time.

When remote office access makes sense

Consider an owner finishing an invoice from home, a freelancer retrieving a project document or a professional opening software installed on an office workstation. A remote session gives you access to the existing desktop, while file transfer can help move an individual document between connected computers.

This can be useful when you need the office machine itself. If you only need shared documents, your existing cloud storage or business collaboration tools may already meet your needs. Choose the method that fits the work and your organization’s access policies.

Before you leave the office

  • Get authorization: use remote access only on computers you own or have permission to access. Follow your employer’s IT rules.
  • Confirm compatibility: Windows 11, 64-bit is recommended. Check the product requirements for each computer.
  • Check connectivity: both the office PC and the computer you will connect from need internet access.
  • Prepare the office machine: it must stay powered on and available. Review sleep settings with your administrator rather than assuming it can wake remotely.
  • Keep your backup plan: remote access is not a separate copy of your files.

How to prepare your connection

  1. Review the package. Read the Moe Repair Remote Access features and purchase terms, including the registered-device and simultaneous-session limits.
  2. Set up the supported Windows application. Follow the current package instructions and configure the computers you are authorized to use.
  3. Choose attended or unattended access. An attended connection may require someone at the office to approve it. For access when nobody is there, the remote device needs appropriate installation, permissions and unattended-access settings.
  4. Protect the connection. Set a strong, unique connection password and keep device access details private. Do not give remote access to unexpected callers.
  5. Test from outside the office. Connect through a different internet connection, open a test document and check the displays and file-transfer functions you expect to use.

What can affect the experience?

Connection quality depends on both internet connections and the remote computer. Upload speed, latency, display resolution and the work being performed can affect responsiveness. Check your actual workflow before relying on it for a deadline.

Multiple-monitor support lets you view and switch between supported displays. It does not guarantee that demanding graphics, video editing or other specialized work will feel identical to sitting at the workstation. Test those applications with your own devices and connection.

Plan for one active connection

Up to 10 registered computers means you can register several machines; it does not mean 10 people can connect simultaneously. This package permits one active remote-control session. If a team needs concurrent access, discuss its requirements with Moe Repair before buying.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect if the office PC is turned off?

Do not assume so. Plan for the office computer to remain powered on, online and configured for access. This package does not promise remote wake-up.

Will this include IT support for my business?

No. The purchase covers remote-access service. Technician troubleshooting, repairs and ongoing business IT work are separate. Visit business IT support if you need help planning or maintaining an office setup.

Is a monthly subscription required?

This package uses one payment with no recurring subscription charges. Lifetime refers to the operating lifetime of the hosted service, subject to the purchase terms. See our guide to remote desktop software without a subscription for the package limits and considerations.
