MOE REPAIR Β· IMPORTANT FILES
Data Recovery in Coquitlam
Missing documents, an unreadable drive or a computer that will not start can put important files out of reach. Moe Repair assesses the device and explains the available recovery or data-transfer options. Recovery depends on the condition of the storage and cannot be guaranteed.
Help with inaccessible files
- Retrieving files from laptops and desktops that no longer boot.
- Assessing unreadable internal or external hard drives and SSDs.
- Investigating accidentally deleted files or formatted storage.
- Moving accessible data from a failing computer to replacement storage.
- Checking whether an apparent storage fault is caused by the enclosure, connection or computer.
What to do before an assessment
Stop using the affected drive where possible. Avoid reinstalling Windows, formatting it or saving recovered files back onto it. Continued writes can overwrite recoverable information. If a hard drive clicks, grinds or repeatedly disconnects, shut it down and describe those symptoms when calling.
Recovery starts with your priorities
Tell us which folders and file types matter most, when the problem started and whether another backup exists. We assess whether ordinary file retrieval, a recovery attempt or specialist laboratory work is appropriate. Physical damage or more complex failures may require a specialist; any proposed next step is discussed before proceeding.
Encrypted drives and locked computers
BitLocker, FileVault and other encryption can require your recovery key or authorized credentials. Repairing a computer does not remove drive encryption, and we cannot promise access without the necessary key. Do not include passwords or recovery keys in a public form or your initial inquiry.
Clear steps from assessment to handover
- Call with the device type, symptoms and the files you need.
- We assess the storage and explain feasible next steps and limitations.
- You approve the proposed work and agree on destination storage.
- Where recovery succeeds, we explain what was retrieved and help you check the priority files.
Is a computer that will not start the same as a failed drive?
No. A power, display or Windows fault can prevent startup while the storage remains readable. Assessment helps distinguish these situations.
Can deleted SSD files always be recovered?
No. SSD behavior, including TRIM, encryption and subsequent use can make deleted files unrecoverable. Stop using the affected device and request an assessment.
